Solving complex problems that make a significant difference in people's lives.
Joining PIF…
The Presidential Innovation Fellows program stood out to me because it brings together many of the things I care about. Specifically, solving big, complex problems in ways that have a real impact on people’s lives. For example, figuring out how to make services more accessible or how to align digital tools with the realities of how people actually use them. Having worked closely with government agencies in previous roles, I’ve seen firsthand the potential for even small changes to make a significant difference in people’s lives.
When I learned about PIF, I was also excited about working on services that operate at such a large scale. The complexity and impact of the federal government’s work makes for meaningful opportunities. The public sector is unique in that there often is no alternative product available, so it’s even more essential that services work well.
Finally, I appreciated that the PIF program emphasizes collaboration within the cohort. The most successful projects I have been a part of included people with divergent backgrounds, skills, and approaches. I look forward to learning from and collaborating with other Fellows to affect meaningful change.
